After a series of discussions initially kicked off in 2013, Jerry Seinfeld officially joined Facebook and Instagram in late October.

In two months, he’s grown the number of likes on his Page by more than 100%. This is outstanding growth, and Seinfeld has earned it all with genuine and engaging content.

Here are some highlights:

On October 23, Seinfeld posted a sneak peek of the upcoming season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. The clip, uploaded directly to Facebook, was watched more than 900,000 times — which outperformed other platforms considerably.

To promote the show’s first episode, Seinfeld tagged Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee guest star Kevin Hart in a photo. The post received more than 330,000 likes and 11,000 shares – and the fifth season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee premiered to the best numbers it’s ever had.

On December 23, Jerry shared a Festivus gift — a bonus content clip with Michael Richards — and created with a custom intro just for Facebook native video.

Seinfeld’s smart use of both Facebook and Instagram combines the best of what the two platforms bring to the game: helping reach new audiences, building awareness and helping him connect with other public figures and his fans. He’s a terrific lighthouse example for other public figures, and we look forward to seeing what he’ll bring to the platform.
