After a week of parties and street parades, more than 49 million people generated more than 534 million interactions – posts, likes and comments – about Brazil’s Carnival. On Instagram, there were 127 million interactions about Carnival in Brazil.

Some of Brazil’s biggest stars joined the digital party. Brazilian pop star Ivete Sangalo lead one of the many “trio elétricos” in Salvador, a stage truck that parades around every day of the carnival week with live TV coverage.

Throughout the week, she used Facebook and Instagram to invite her fans to post selfies with the hashtag #instaivete. These pictures were merged with half of Ivete’s face and then displayed at her trio elétrico during her shows.
