CBS’ “The Talk” launched their 6th season by giving their fans an up-close-and-personal interactive experience on Facebook before every broadcast of premiere week. Hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood utilized Live for Facebook Mentions to take fans behind the scenes.
Prior to every taping of the show, each host used Live to give fans a unique and exclusive look into what happens before going on-air with “The Talk.” Julie Chen kicked off premiere week on September 14th by bringing viewers along as she went through last-minute show preparations, right before walking out on stage in front of a live studio audience.
Just as her Live video ended on Facebook, the live television broadcast of “The Talk” began on CBS, allowing fans to be a part of every moment of the show. Julie’s Live video currently has more than 786,000 views on Facebook.
Throughout the rest of the week, the remaining hosts used Live before each day’s taping and provided their own glimpse into the experience of being a host.
These live streams were shared to “The Talk’s” Page and to the host’s Facebook Pages. Additionally, people who had recently interacted with the host’s Facebook posts received a notification when they started their broadcasts.
During each CBS broadcast throughout the week, the hosts spoke on-air about their Live videos and prompted viewers to catch them after the show for live Facebook Q&As on their Pages, enabling them to continue the discussion.
“The Talk” continues to fully engage fans before, during and after broadcasts by leveraging the hosts’ individual Facebook Pages, sharing content among all of their Pages, and using Facebook Mentions for both Live video and Q&As. New Page likes for “The Talk’s” Facebook Page increased by 241% this week, and the hosts’ Live videos and The Talk’s videos accumulated more than 1.7 million total video views.
