After more than a decade without releasing a music video, Brazilian pop star Ivete Sangalo chose the first day of summer for the Southern Hemisphere to launch a 360 music video on Facebook.

For the launch of “O Farol,” the artist gathered a top-notch team to carry out the innovative project, including the Brazilian producing company 02 Filmes.

Before the launch, Ivete teased her fans with pictures and videos from the production process on Facebook and Instagram.

A funny glimpse of the new choreography:

“It`s today!”  Ivete proposes the hasthag #ivete360:

It´s not the first time that Ivete has used Facebook and Instagram to creatively engage her audience. Earlier this year, she invited fans to post selfies to be displayed during her shows at Brazilian Carnival.

Since its launch on Facebook, 360 video has been used in many different ways, including raising awareness for nonprofits and causes and showing exclusive behind-the-scenes moments like the creative process of fashion designer Alexandre Herchcovitch. Ivete Sangalo’s experiment with the technology shows the creative potential for artists.
