Today, we’re sharing some updates to Facebook Mentions on iOS.
Since launching Live for Mentions in August, thousands of public figures have shared live videos with millions of fans. With today’s update, we’re making some improvements to how you broadcast and save the video after you go live. You can now record live video by holding the phone in landscape or portrait mode. Your video will still appear in a square aspect ratio regardless of which way you hold the phone, but we wanted to give you the option to make broadcasting as easy as possible. We’ve also added the ability to save your finished live video to Camera Roll, and added a high quality upload option for your video post.
Easily Filter by Topic in Mentions Feed
Earlier this year, we made it possible to add topics you’re interested in to your Mentions feed. With today’s update, we’re making it easier to filter posts within your Mentions feed by source as well as by topic. For example, if you only want to see posts from media outlets, you can select “Media Sources” from the dropdown at the top of your Mentions feed. Or if you only want to see posts about your band or sports team, just choose that topic from the top of your feed.
Reply to messages
We’re also rolling out the ability for you to reply to private messages sent to your Page or profile from within the Mentions app. To reply to messages, visit the Notifications tab and tap on the Messaging icon.
