Since rolling out Facebook Live to people and publishers around the world, we’ve seen incredible adoption and engagement with the new format.

We’ve been inspired by the creativity we’ve seen so far, and with this weekly series, we’ll highlight some interesting Facebook Live videos from the past week.

 1. Fusions Jorge Ramos and Alicia Menendez interviewed candidates Gary Johnson and William Weld for their Libertarian Forum.

 

2. The New York Times interviewed Simone Biles via Facebook Live about her Rio 2016 experience.

 

3. Actress and humanitarian Ashley Judd announced that she will pursue a PhD at UC Berkeley‘s Goldman School of Public Policy.

 

4. Time Inc. produced a Facebook Liveathon featuring several of their brand Pages using the hashtag #HowWeJulia to celebrate Julia Child’s birthday. The sister brands that participated in the celebration included Time/Food & Wine, Health, Extra Crispy, Real Simple, MyRecipes, Travel + Leisure, People Food, and Cooking Light.

 

5. Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna hosted a Facebook Live Q&A on the Keeping Up With The Kardashians‘s Page to promote their new E! reality show, “Rob and Chyna.”

 

6. Shailene Woodley continues to document her months-long fight against the ‎Dakota Access pipeline on Facebook Live, broadcasting this week from a peaceful protest in North Dakota.

 

7. Garth Brooks revealed that he’s releasing a new song, “Pure Adrenaline,” which was created for SEC football. The song will help kick-off CBS Sports’ “SEC Game of the Week” on Saturdays throughout the 2016 season.

 

8. In a Facebook Live interview with NBC Olympics, Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir mentioned that “all the Lochte drama is really cringe-worthy.”

 

9. Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute went live a number of times on Saturday during the first birthday celebration of Bei Bei, the zoo’s youngest giant panda cub.

 

10. Leona Lewis stopped by Facebook New York to chat about her role in the revival of CATS, answer fan questions, and tease a new album.
