The Live Blog: September 8, 2016

Since rolling out Facebook Live to people and publishers around the world, we’ve seen incredible adoption and engagement with the new format.

We’ve been inspired by the creativity we’ve seen so far, and with this weekly series, we’ll highlight some interesting Facebook Live videos from the past week.

Here are 10 standout live videos:

 1. ABC News’ Ginger Zee took questions from viewers in Florida while reporting on Hurricane Hermine, and her colleague, Rob Marciano, provided the same view as his lead evening news stand up from the middle of storm coverage.



2. The cast of Netflix‘s Stranger Things visited Facebook New York to play 80s trivia and answer fan questions about onset pranks, their favorite 80s films, and their favorite episodes to shoot.


3. Univision‘s Jorge Ramos went live from a press conference with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto and Donald Trump.


4. Kate Beckinsale went live from the Underworld Facebook Page to talk about the latest installment in the series, on-set pranks, her favorite Underworld adversary, and much more.


5. Gloria Steinem used Live for the first time at Facebook New York to read an excerpt from My Life on the Road and to take viewer questions about feminism, Hillary Clinton, and much more.


6. After director James Gunn showed him footage from the upcoming film Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, Vin Diesel broadcast his stunned reaction and his admiration for Gunn.


7. New York Times investigative reporter Jo Becker had a conversation via Facebook Live with Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks.


8. Mike Love of The Beach Boys stopped by Facebook Los Angeles to discuss his memoir Good Vibrations: My Life as a Beach Boy with his good friend, actor John Stamos.


9. Reuters correspondent Jeffrey Dastin interviewed passengers before they boarded the firstU.S. commercial flight to Cuba in 60 years.


10. Carrie Underwood went live for the first time during a pre-show hang out with her crew in Spokane, Washington to kick-off the second leg of her tour.
