Since rolling out Facebook Live to people and publishers around the world, we’ve seen incredible adoption and engagement with the new format.

We’ve been inspired by the creativity we’ve seen so far, and with this weekly series, we’ll highlight some interesting Facebook Live videos from the past week.

Here are 10 standout live videos:

 1. Actress and activist Shailene Woodley continued to document her fight against the Dakota Access Pipeline, using Facebook Live to broadcast the protests and her eventual arrest at North Dakota’s Standing Rock Reservation.

 

2. NBC Nightly News With Lester Holt used Facebook Live to give an aerial tour of flooding in North Carolina after Hurricane Matthew.

 

3. Bleacher Report streamed an Arkansas high school football battle between Pulaski Academy and Sylvan Hills exclusively via Facebook Live. The broadcast featured such elements as audience interaction with announcers, fan polling, unique camera angles, sports performance metrics, and the integration of Instagram Stories.

 

4. Director Michael Bay used Facebook Live to broadcast from behind-the-scenes of the next Transformers movie while the crew prepared to shoot a battle scene.

 

5. The Ohio State Buckeyes went live immediately following their dramatic overtime victory over Wisconsin, allowing fans to join the celebration at Camp Randall Stadium.

 

6. Telemundo Deportes broadcast Pope Francis’ second “United for Peace” football match, a charity exhibition featuring stars such as Ronaldinho, Diego Maradona, and Rafa Márquez, via Facebook Live.

 

7. Garth Brooks shared a new episode of his Facebook Live series Inside Studio G with his wife Trisha Yearwood to announce that they’re releasing a joint holiday album.

 

8. CNN‘s Dr. Sanjay Gupta went live with exclusive access to a rare surgery that separated two twin brothers conjoined at the head, where he answered viewer questions and discussed the complicated conditions of the surgery.

 

9. Actor Jaime Camil went live from Facebook Los Angeles to answer fan questions and to talk about the new season of Jane The Virgin as well as Elena of Avalor.

 

10. KATV, an ABC affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansasbroadcast the scheduled implosion of the city’s Broadway Bridge.
